Scholarships

Several scholarships are available to College of Arts and Sciences students.

The deadline for all scholarship applications is the first Friday in March.

Jane emily Clymer Memorial Scholarship
  • Provides full and/or partial scholarship awards to qualified women in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Vermont.
  • Applicant must have documented financial need.
  • Only students who have completed their sophomore year in good standing will be eligible for an award from the Fund.
  • Applicants must have shown academic promise and have demonstrated improved academic performance in their freshman and sophomore years.
  • Must have demonstrated service to others, whether fellow students or other people in the Burlington community or elsewhere. These awards hope to give the promise of producing graduates who put the privilege of education to work for others.
  • Recipients are awarded a scholarship for junior year which is renewable for senior year based on continued academic improvement and community service.
  • Award amount based on financial need.
  • Recipients are chosen in the spring semester before their junior year.

Hajim Family Scholarship
  • Arts and Sciences female student majoring in the humanities.
  • Awarded at end of junior year for the senior year.
  • Proven academic excellence.
  • Demonstrates outstanding character.
  • Demonstrated financial need.
  • Award amount is approximately $2,000 annually.
  • Recipients are chosen in the spring semester before their senior year.
  • An application is available online (Microsoft Word .doc file)- eligible students are contacted and asked to apply by the Dean's Office.
Kidder Scholarship
  • Awarded as a merit scholarship to an Out of State student.
  • Will be awarded to a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences.
  • Must be an U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 after 3 semesters of full time enrollment.
  • Enrolled primarily in courses that represent the various disciplines in the College (humanities, social sciences, fine arts, mathematics and natural sciences).
  • Demonstrated commitment to both academic and campus community activities.
  • In the event of a tie, the student who demonstrates greater financial need will be awarded the scholarship.
  • May be renewed for the senior year as merited.
  • Award amount is approximately $5,000-10,000 annually.
  • Recipients are chosen in the spring semester before their junior year.
