Adam Whalley

Assistant Professor of Chemistry

Adam Whalley, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from Columbia University in 2009 and his B.Sc. in chemistry from Simon Fraser University in 2004. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Vermont in 2012, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at Northwestern University.

His research group will focus on synthesizing novel organic molecules for use in electronic devices such as field effect transistors, light emitting diodes, and solar cells. These studies will utilize a wide range of materials including highly porous metal-organic frameworks, conjugated polymers, and a variety of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.

In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors by fishing, backpacking, bicycling, and skiing.
