Ching Selao, Assistant Professor of Romance Languages, received her Ph.D. from the Université de Montréal (2007) with a specialization in Francophone literatures, and has just completed a postdoctoral fellowship at McGill University on writers living in exile in Quebec and France (2009).
She has done extensive research on Vietnamese literature in French and published articles on that subject and on writers from the Caribbean and Maghreb regions. She has also taught classes on French and Francophone literatures at McGill University and the Université de Montréal. Her current research focuses on the influence of Aimé Césaire, Frantz Fanon, Albert Memmi and Jacques Berque on Quebec literature of the 60s.
At UVM, she will be teaching classes on Francophone literatures, as well as on Quebec literature.
