Each of the three gateway courses described below is for student learning through class-time experiences with the instructor present. All upper-level Studio Art courses require one or more of these three foundation level courses.
ARTS 001 Drawing
Introductory study of visual experience through drawing and its transformation of the three-dimensional visual world onto a two-dimensional surface. Emphasis varies with instructor. Offered spring and fall.
ARTS 002 Two-Dimensional Studies
A studio course exploring through classroom projects how we perceive space and how we work with materials and concepts to organize two-dimensional surfaces. Offered spring and fall.
ARTS 003 Three-Dimensional Studies
Introductory study of the manipulation of actual space in diverse media. Emphasis varies with instructor. Offered spring and fall.
