Practical Techniques to Optimize Employee Performance

| -

In this interactive session, we'll work together to explore the ways farm owners and managers can bring out the best in their employees. Starting with some pre-session reading that discusses examples what farm workers value, we’ll discuss effective communication practices that share expectations and provide feedback to employees all season long.

You’ll have a chance to think about how you can ensure your farm’s values are reflected in your employee relationships and feedback process. We will also introduce you to tools on the Farm Labor Dashboard that can help establish consistent expectations, support supervision, and help your farm to be in legal compliance.

This session will assign some reading and listening to be done in advance so that we can make the most of our time together. Together, the pre-work and live session will leave participants with:

  • Increased knowledge of effective communication systems,
  • Methods to engage employees to understand and then meet their needs,
  • Examples of systems that can be implemented to increase worker satisfaction and thus optimize their effectiveness,
  • Stories from other farmers who have experience in human resource management, and
  • Online tools and resources to help implement lessons learned.
