First-Year Applicants
Deadlines:
Early action (non-binding): Nov. 1
Regular notification: Jan. 15
Spring semester: Nov. 1
Note: Applications are due on or by the deadline. Supplemental materials may arrive shortly after the deadline.
- Your completed application
- $55 (U.S.) application fee
- Official high school transcript
- First quarter grades (For Early Action candidates only)
- Mid-year grades
- Official SAT* or ACT scores with writing component (official only if submitted directly from the testing agency)
- Letter(s) of recommendation (only one is required)
- Students applying for financial aid should file the FAFSA by February 10 (priority deadline)
Transfer Applicants
Deadlines:
Fall semester: April 15
Spring semester: Nov. 1
Transfer candidates should apply with the Common Application for transfers.
Note: Applications are due on or by the deadline. Supplemental materials may arrive shortly after the deadline.
- Your completed application
- $55 (U.S.) application fee
- Official high school transcript
- Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions (must be sent directly from the institution in order to be considered official)
- Letter(s) of recommendation
- One letter of recommendation may be submitted, preferably by a current professor.
- Students applying for financial aid should file the FAFSA by March 1
International Applicants
First-Year Deadlines:

Note: Applications are due on or by the deadline. Supplemental materials may arrive shortly after the deadline.
- Your completed application
- Select the appropriate Common Application (either the first-year or transfer version).
Login and be sure to add UVM to your "My Colleges" list. Both the application and supplement must be submitted at the same time.
- $55 (U.S.) application fee
- Official SAT* or ACT scores with writing component (for first-year students)
- Official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores
- Official, translated copies of secondary school record
- Mid-year grades
- Letter(s) of recommendation (only one is required)
*Information regarding the new Score Choice option for the SAT: UVM considers your highest section scores across all SAT dates submitted. Applicants are encouraged to send scores from every SAT test date in which they received a top score in each section. Final admissions decisions are based only on your highest section scores, and UVM updates applicant records each time we receive new scores.
