ACCESS is the office of Disability Services for Students at the University of Vermont. Part of Academic Support Programs, ACCESS provides Accommodations, Consultation, Collaboration, and Educational Support Services as a means to foster opportunities for and empowerment of Students with Disabilities to participate in a barrier-free learning environment. ACCESS serves as a resource to UVM and the larger community to advocate for a diverse learning community, educational equity and innovation through the principles of Universal Design.
The University of Vermont and ACCESS are committed to providing services that will enable students who qualify under Section 504 of the 1973 Rehabilitation Act and the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act to participate fully in the activities of the University.
ACCESS works with students with any type of documented disability per established criteria, guidelines and procedures. Services are confidential and available to students in all areas of study at no additional charge.
