Notetaking Services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students

Assignment of a Notetaker is based on the student’s need for notes, the accommodation(s) the student is using in class and the availability of Notetakers.  Notetaking is also based on the student’s documentation.  

To request a notetaker for the classroom:

  1. Meet with your ACCESS Specialist to determine which notetaking accommodation is appropriate and reasonable
  2. Fill out the accommodation request form online ASAP.  Students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing are given priority registration and encouraged to register during this. It takes several weeks to locate and schedule notetakers for the semester.
  1. Fill out the accommodation request form online IMMEDIATELY with changes in class schedule
    1. when you add a class
    2. when you drop a class

Contact the ASP Services Manager if notetakers are needed for any additional class meetings not on the regular schedule.
