Exam Proctoring

Although the Exam Proctoring Center [EPC] has reduced staffing in the summer months, The Exam Proctoring Team will work with students and their professors to arrange time, space and other accommodations that students are eligible for - just as we do during the school year.


1. Contact your professor and discuss the recommended accommodations in your Accommodation Letter.

a. If your class is online, ask the professor to extend the time allotted for you to complete your exams/quizzes – This applies to all further steps below IF the class is online. If your professor needs help with Blackboard, they can contact

2. Determine if the professor will proctor your exam or if you'll use the EPC.

3. If using the EPC, fill out the online form [start and end times must be between 9 AM – 3 PM Monday-Friday].


4. Remind professor of exam date/time before it happens to ensure they’ve sent the exam to the EPC.

Please Note: Instructions for students taking Courtesy Exams during Summer for non-UVM students

a. The EPC will administer and proctor exams as a courtesy for other educational institutions or organizations as our schedule permits.

b. The EPC can administer computer-based, listening, and paper-based exams.

c. Exams will be administered according to the exam source's instructions and specifications.
