We serve 225 students (first year to senior) annually.

Participation is voluntary and students can submit an application to the SSS program at any time after they have been accepted to UVM. Tip: apply early - depending on when an application is accepted, a student will either be accepted immediately or placed on a waiting list for the next year.

To be eligible for TRiO Student Support Services, you must meet at least one of the following criteria:

Income: Each year, the U.S. Department of Education publishes guidelines, which define low income based on family size.

First Generation College Student: First generation college students are those whose parents or legal guardians have not completed a Bachelor’s degree at the time of your application (neither father, mother, nor legal guardian(s) has graduated from a four-year institution).

Disability: Disability refers to students with a physical or mental or learning difference which limits a major life activity. Such disabilities must be documented with UVM’s Student Accessibility Services office.

In addition, you must be:

A U.S. Citizen and/or legal/permanent resident

Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program for at least 12 credits for your first BA/BS.
