BSAD 263 – Environmntl & Social Rprtng

Course Description: An examination of voluntary and mandatory reporting of issues related to corporate social responsibility including environmental, social and governance. Knowledge is gained through readings, written assignments and discussion. Coverage includes GRI, SASB and integrated reporting guidelines and standards. Prerequisites: BSAD 060, BSAD 061 or their equivalent; Senior or Graduate student standing or Instructor permission.

Section Description: This new online course will explore the history of environmental and social reporting both within organizations and in reports prepared for external stakeholders. Content will include the early initiatives in economic, ethical, social, governmental, and environmental reporting. The course will also focus on the current external entities involved in standard setting for external reports. These include the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the International Integrative Reporting Council (IIRC), and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).
