Requirements for Admission to Graduate Studies for the Degree of Master of Science

Satisfactory undergraduate or graduate course work in chemistry and the biological sciences. Course work in microbiology, molecular genetics, and immunology are also recommended but not required. Satisfactory scores on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) general aptitude sections is required; students for whom English is not a native language must take and provide official scores from the Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Students must submit an official transcript from undergraduate colleges attended and any previous graduate training. Three letters of recommendation are required, addressing the student’s intellectual maturity, communication skills, and aptitude for an advanced degree. Persons interested in a Ph.D. program may wish to consider the interdisciplinary program in Cellular, Molecular, and Biomedical Sciences in which Pathology participates.

Minimum Degree Requirements for the Degree of Master of Science

PATH 303, PATH 305, PATH 306, CLBI 301, NSCI 327; additional elective courses, subject to approval; PATH 391 (six to fifteen credits).
