Specific Requirements

Requirements Select two core courses, as approved by minor advisor, from the following areas: EDSP 200, EDSP 202, EDSP 217, EDSP 224, EDSP 274, EDSP 280, EDSP 290, EDSP 295, EDSP 297. Select three elective courses from any of the above core courses, and/or the following elective courses: EDSP 200, ASL 001, ASL 002, CSD 020, CSD 022, CSD 094, CSD 023, CSD 313, CSD 080, CSD 299.
Prerequisites Completion or enrollment in EDSP 005 and an overall GPA of 3.00 or above.
Other information Students apply to the minor through contacting the Special Education Program in the Department of Education. The number of students accepted to the minor is contingent on available space, with priority given to students in the College of Education and Social Services. Accepted students are assigned a minor advisor who must approve all program plans. Students in CESS Teacher Licensure programs who are interested in learning more about obtaining an endorsement in Special Education should contact the program for further information regarding application to our Dual Endorsement Minor and/or master’s degree option. There may be a $150.00 lab fee for students who include the sixty credit practicum above and beyond the minor.
