New Undergraduate Student Information

( Important information for students after the payment of the acceptance fee.)

All entering first-year students for fall semester are required to attend a two-day orientation session in June. For more information, please refer to the Orientation Link out of catalogue site. website. Students enrolling in the spring semester are strongly encouraged to attend January orientation held prior to the start of spring semester.

First-time, first-year and second-year students are required to live in on-campus housing. For more information, visit Residential Life Link out of catalogue site.. On-campus housing is not required for transfer students but is guaranteed for new transfer students who follow the housing request process.

Class Registration

An academic advisor at Orientation helps prepare the first semester course schedule. First-year students entering in the fall semester register for classes at June Orientation. First-year students entering in the spring and transfer students entering either semester meet with an academic advisor at an Orientation session and may need to formally register for classes at that time.

Immunization and Health History Forms

Pre-matriculation health requirements must be completed and submitted to the UVM Center for Health and Wellbeing Student Health/Medical Clinic before a student’s first term at UVM. These requirements are presented in both paper and online forms. New students will receive detailed instructions regarding the immunizations required by Vermont state law.
