Fifteen credits of Japanese with at least nine of those credits at the 100-level, including JAPN 102 or its equivalent. Three credits at or above the 100-level in Japanese linguistics or literature may be substituted for three credits of language study beyond JAPN 102 or its equivalent.

A major in Asian Studies and a minor in Japanese may be possible if additional courses in Japanese are taken to reduce overlap to one course.
