Overview
Computer Science is a multi-faceted discipline requiring the creativity of an artist, the problem-solving ability of a mathematician, the experimental method of a scientist, and the technical skills of an engineer. There are exciting opportunities in many industries, including: communications, health care, manufacturing, finance, entertainment, human services, education, and transportation.
Computer Science Curricula
Students may select either of three degree programs in Computer Science. The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree and the Bachelor of Science degree, with a major in Computer Science and Information Systems, are offered through the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences and are described below. Additionally, a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in Computer Science, is offered through the College of Arts and Sciences. A non-degree Certificate and an Accelerated Master's program are also available.
Certificate in Computer Software: A non-degree certificate in Computer Software is offered jointly with the Division of Continuing Education. Requirements for the Certificate are fifteen credits in approved computer software courses, to include CS 021 with a grade of C or better in each.
