Animal Science (Undergraduate Minor)

Specific Requirements

Any student in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences interested in enrolling in this minor should contact the Animal Science department. If accepted, the student will be assigned a "minor advisor" from the department who must approve all program plans and course selections.

Five courses with a minimum of 15 credit hours including Introductory Animal Sciences (ASCI 001); two courses selected from core sciences including ASCI 043, ASCI 110, ASCI 122, ASCI 141, ASCI 205, ASCI 212, ASCI 215, ASCI 216, ASCI 220; two courses selected from applied sciences including ASCI 006, ASCI 113, ASCI 115, ASCI 117, ASCI 118, ASCI 119, ASCI 121, ASCI 125, ASCI 134, ASCI 135, ASCI 143, ASCI 154, ASCI 161, ASCI 171, ASCI 220, ASCI 230, ASCI 231, ASCI 233, ASCI 234, ASCI 263, ASCI 264, ASCI 272. At least eight credits must be at 100-level, three of which must be at 200-level.

For students in the College of Arts and Sciences: Five courses with a minimum of 15 credit hours, including Introductory Animal Science (ASCI 001), two courses in Core Science including ASCI 043, ASCI 110, ASCI 122, ASCI 141, ASCI 205, ASCI 212, ASCI 215, ASCI 216, and two courses selected from Applied Sciences including ASCI 006, ASCI 115, ASCI 117, ASCI 118, ASCI 119, ASCI 121, ASCI 125, ASCI 134, ASCI 135, ASCI 143, ASCI 154, ASCI 161, ASCI 171, ASCI 220, ASCI 230, ASCI 231, ASCI 233, ASCI 234, ASCI 263, ASCI 264, ASCI 272. At least 8 credits must be at the 100-level, 3 of which must be at the 200-level. Acceptance into this program is by application only.
