Safety

The blue light system is the main form of security on campus. The way it works is there are two buttons. The first one is a call button, where you can speak to Police Services over an intercom. The second button is the big "Push For Help" red button, very important if you're ever injured or you feel unsafe. You can push the red button and Police Services will respond in 90 seconds or less. They are all state troopers, and extremely nice, helpful people. They also allow you to press the red buttons as you run around campus, if you feel really unsafe. Just run to each run, press the red buttons as you go, and they will track where you are going and meet up with you. They can escort you back to your res. hall, take you to the hospital... Whatever you need, they will provide it.

There's also the CAT Alert system, which is a text message and/or e-mail sent to students that parents can also sign up for the subscription. And that just lets you know immediately any time something happens on campus, whether there is a water pipe that breaks or there's a fire in a building, or there's a snowstorm, which happens fairly often. They will let you know immediately.
