As for our weather: Yes, it can get cold in the winter. But we also are lucky to experience the beauty of all four seasons — the classic New England scenes of maple trees set ablaze with fall colors; the exquisite views of snowy mountains and frosty trees; the gentle, sloping hillsides blossoming with lupines in the spring; and the perfect summer sailing days on Lake Champlain that end with gorgeous sunsets over the Adirondack Mountains.

Now for the numbers: Burlington's average high temperature in August is 77 degrees Fahrenheit and in January, 27 degrees. The city gets an average of 92 inches of snow each year — and, yes, we like snow, because the more we have, the more we can get outside and ski, snowshoe and ice-skate.

The truth is, however, that the weather can change quickly and dramatically, so it's best to check the links below before packing your clothes for a visit to the university.
