CS FairComputer Science Fair

Date: Wed, Dec 4, 2013, Last Day of Classes!

Time: 12:50pm - 3:50pm

Where: Billings Library, University of Vermont

What: Computer Science Students from all levels (first year through graduate students) will be presenting Computing Projects (a mix of course projects and extracurricular projects) to each other and to all attendees.

Projects: There are already 90 projects from about 160 students registered!  You can preview the projects at the CS Fair website. Projects will be presented in 3 time slots: 12:50-1:40pm, 1:55-2:45pm, 3:00-3:50pm.

Attendance is free: This is a great opportunity for people inside and outside the UVM community to see what UVM CS students are up to, for current or future UVM students to scope out CS as a potential major, and for employers to scope out potential future interns and employees.

Prizes: In addition to competitive prizes for presenters ($1000 grand prize), there will be free food, door prizes, and raffles open to all attendees!

Judging Panel: A prestigious judging panel will decide the $1000 Judges Choice Prize, including John Cohn (IBM), Tim Kenney (MyWebgrocer), John Paul (UTC Aerospace Systems), Marc McClanahan (Allscripts), and Peter Brown (Agilion).

Sponsors: Representatives from our sponsors will decide the $500 Sponsors Choice Prize. Corporate sponsors include: Google, State Street Corporation, Vermont HITEC, Competitive Computing (C2), Patient Engagement Systems, Dealer.com, Bluehouse Group, Galen Healthcare Solutions, UTC Aerospace Systems, Logic Supply, and Allscripts.
