“What is the UVM Program Board?”

The UVM Program Board is a student-lead programming organization at the University of Vermont, supported by Student Life.

“What is Program Board’s Mission?”

Program Board’s purpose is to develop and produce consistent and high quality campus programs to satisfy and reflect the diverse interests and social needs of the student body. Program Board strives to build and strengthen the campus community by entertaining and educating students.

“How is Program Board funded?”

The Program Board receives its funding from student fees that are collected as part of the funding for the Davis Center. The funds are designated for programming that meets the diverse needs of the UVM community.

“Who is on Program Board?”

The program board are a collection of student leaders who are interested in movies, music, educational opportunities, etc... and they want to bring these exciting things to the UVM campus. Some of these students have been heavily involved in their high school or at UVM, while others just wanted a new opportunity to get involved.

“Who can apply for Program Board?”

All currently and actively enrolled full time undergraduate students are eligible to apply for Program Board, without regard of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability, age, gender identity or expression, economic status or class, or other protected identities, in accordance with the University of Vermont’s Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Policy Statement. Students must maintain a grade point average of at least 2.0. Second-semester seniors are ineligible to hold Executive Council positions.

“Why should I join Program Board?”

Aside from having a great time, you will have numerous opportunities to challenge yourself and develop valuable skills. Beyond event planning and production, these skills include communication, problem solving, conflict resolution, diversity training, and leadership. In addition, all members are given the chance to interact with many new people within the UVM Community and outside of it, and they may even get to meet celebrities and performers. You make new friends, gain valuable experiences, and build your resume –- all from being a part of Program Board.
