It's the season for Staff Council Elections! Being on Staff Council lets you make your voice heard and is a chance to work toward real change to improve our community.

Among Staff Council's accomplishments are unlimited sick leave accrual, paid personal days, the staff dental plan, nursing mother stations, and the Staff Emergency Loan Fund. If you're interested in working on behalf of staff toward our next big achievement, consider applying to be a representative! This spring, the Council is seeking nominations for new representatives in the following areas:
  • College of Arts & Sciences
  • Research & Graduate Studies
  • Finance - Office of the Vice President
  • College of Engineering & Mathematical Sciences
We hope you'll consider applying for service. Information about time commitments and duties is available here, or you can download the nomination form now. Let the Staff Council Office know if you have any questions about the application process.

The Vermont Corporate Cup Challenge and State Agency Race is a 5 kilometer team running/walking event open to businesses, government and non-profit organizations in Vermont. The purpose of this event is to promote physical fitness within the workplace and at home by bringing employees together to enjoy and experience the benefits of fitness. This annual 5K (walkers or runners) puts forth multiple teams from businesses and organizations all throughout the state!

Once you form your team of three (either all walkers or all runners) register online at www.vcccsar.org, then let Staff Council know that you registered so you can pick up your TEAM UVM tech shirt. Don't have a team of 3? No problem, we provide a match service so you can participate!

Rainbow Awards and Graduation Ceremony
The Prism Center hosts an annual awards and graduation ceremony each spring, complete with music, food, and fun, to celebrate UVM’s LGBTQA community, its many achievements, and the LGBTQA undergrad and grad students who are graduating. Students do not need to have been involved with the Prism Center; participation is open to all LGBTQA students! We warmly welcome all staff and faculty to join us in celebrating student achievement and to nominate students, staff, or faculty for one of our awards. To RSVP, register to participate in graduation (by 4/24), nominate someone for an award (by 4/5), or apply to be a student speaker, see our Rainbow Awards and Graduation page.
Ski Pass Discounts

Employment and UVM affiliation will be verified by Bolton Valley. and include unlimited alpine skiing and riding on 71 trails, night skiing until 10pm Tuesday - Saturday, 1200 acres of Nordic and back country skiing, 20% discount on rentals, retail shop purchases, group ski and ride lessons, and lodging. National Walk@Lunch Day
Join UVM Employee Wellness for the National Walk@Lunch Day on April 24th, from 11:30-1:30! Stop by our tent on the green in front of Waterman to pick up fruit, cheese, stickers and walking maps for campus routes! Up to 10 people per team can participate in this year's selfie contest! During your walk at lunch, take a group selfie. The team with the most creative selfie wins! Each team member in the photograph will receive a $50 gift card to the Skirack!! Email all submissions to wellness@uvm.edu. Include one picture and each team member's full name.

Employee Wellness Incentive Campaign
One Goal, One Stop, My Journey:
UVM Employee Wellness invites all faculty and staff to participate in its 2019 incentive program, launching April 1st! This goal-setting campaign will encourage and guide you to create a wellness goal that is important and unique to you. After completing this incentive, you will receive a $35 Amazon card.

Olive Oil
Are you a healthy young woman?

Research Study:
Planning a Pregnancy?
The UVM Medical Center Department of OB/GYN is currently enrolling women to participate in a research study to help understand how changes in pregnancy hormones impact the normal blood clotting process.
