LCSG is a University of Vermont (UVM)-based partnership between
UVM and Plattsburgh State University of New York. We work closely
with UVM's Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources,
UVM Extension, and Cornell Cooperative Extension to support education,
training, research, and outreach activities that enhance the sustainable
use, conservation, and development of the Lake Champlain ecosystem.
As a recognized federal partner in the protection of Lake Champlain,
we are committed to building stronger partnerships with local
government, businesses, environmental education organizations,
communities, and schools to protect lake water quality and foster
watershed and lakeshore stewardship. These partnerships and the
knowledge derived from them on local aquatic resources issues,
opportunities, and constraints in the Lake Champlain Basin have
enabled us to establish an effective, locally driven Sea Grant
outreach, education, and advisory program for the Basin. We work
closely with NY and VT state agencies responsible for the management
and protection of aquatic resources in a number of projects, from
river basin planning to aquatic nuisance species management.
