Only a well-informed public is prepared to make the wise and sometimes very difficult decisions that are needed to effectively manage Lake Champlain, its watersheds and resources. Watershed and lake organizations, user groups, local officials and residents often need specific information about subjects from clean boating to low-input lawn care. LCSG provides unbiased, science-based and up-to-date information to the general public and to specific audiences through a broad range of communications vehicles. For example, LCSG was partner in the production of a bioengineering-based shoreline stabilization handbook. The handbook has received numerous awards, including Outstanding Project of the Year (2004) from the Northern New England Chapter of the American Planning Association and the Vermont Planners Association.
