As a federal partner in the Lake Champlain Basin, Sea Grant makes research dollars available to fund projects to advance aquatic research and find solutions to contemporary problems. Although our emphasis is on applied research with a direct correlation to the needs of local user groups, our findings also have far-reaching implications for scientists, coastal businesses, marine industries, government agencies, and communities outside our geographic area.
Through our research, we contribute to a growing National Sea Grant database on aquatic resources. Recently, our scientists were involved with studies on the management of rainbow smelt and the impact of cormorant management on lake fish populations.
