Clinical Activities

The AHRL mission is to increase our understanding of the nature of the anxiety disorders and to the empirical evaluation of methods for their treatment. Clinical programs are currently being planned for the cognitive-behavioral treatment of persons suffering from panic disorder with and without nicotine dependence. Cognitive behavioral treatment will be available on a limited basis for persons with other anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, specific phobias, and social phobia. Potential clients will receive comprehensive diagnostic interviews and assessments in advance of making any treatment recommendations. Clinicians interested in referring a potential client for assessment or treatment are welcome to call 802-656-3831. Persons seeking clinical services also may call this number and will be asked to complete a brief telephone-screening interview before scheduling an initial appointment. Services are provided on a sliding scale, and participation in certain funded research studies is typically without charge.
