B.A., West Virginia University; M.A. and Ph.D., University of Toronto. Professor Neal teaches courses in political theory. He is especially interested in the tradition of liberal political thought and the various criticisms elicited by it. Recently his research and writing have been focused on the relationship between religion and liberal-democracy. Representative publications include: Liberalism and its Discontents (NYU Press, 1997); "Religion Within the Limits of Liberalism Alone?," Journal of Church and State (1997). | |
