The New England Greenhouse Conference
2007 GRANT APPLICATION
The New England Greenhouse Conference, sponsored by New England Floriculture, Inc., requests proposals from any interested persons (growers, universities, partnerships) from one of the 6 New England states and New York for its Grant Program. The Grant Program exists to encourage and support floricultural research, education and extension projects that have direct impact on the floriculture industry. Projects may include in-service or professional improvement training and travel, speakers or events at educational meetings, extension equipment to aid educational endeavors, computers, and basic or applied research. Each grant will not exceed $5,000.
Proposal Guidelines: All proposals must be postmarked by December 15, 2007 in order to be considered for funding. (Successful award recipients will be notified by mail by February 15, 2008.) Additional application forms are available from the address given below. Photocopies of this form will be accepted. Overhead charges are not permitted. Please restrict your proposal to the allocated space on these 2 pages, with a minimum 10 point font size. More information and past recipients can be found at the NEGC website http://www.uvm.edu/~pass/greenhouse/negcawrd.html. There is a limit of one award per principle investigator per award year. Favorable consideration will be given to applicants who have not received NEGC funding in the past and for projects for which funds may not be available through regular funding channels. Cooperation between industry based entities and university scientists is encouraged.
If previously funded by this awards program, in order to be considered for funding, reports are due prior to or accompanying any future proposal. If the funded research or project is ongoing, a progress report is required. If the research or project is completed, a final report is due. Either report may include published articles, but at the minimum must include a paragraph summary (under 200 words) which may be put on the NEGC website. All presentations, publications or technical reports resulting from NEGC supported activities must credit the NEGC for its support.
