12:30 – 04:30              Methods of measuring change, include with the review paper

instead of a separate recommendation report?

Task Group Reports (Lab Methods Survey, Round-robin sample exchange, effects of sample storage, Archiving procedures).

Greg Lawrence - Reanalyzing Old Samples

Topics of growing interest such as changes in soil carbon (Interagency Soil Carbon Network), other program or network affiliations, modeling changes in base saturation to predict recovery from acid rain (other topics?), are there roles for the cooperative here?

Mark Watson - Overview of NYSERDA Soil-Related Research Activities

Rock Ouimette - Sampling by Depth or Genetic Horizon?

Pete Murdoch - Mission of the Delaware Basin Collaborative Environmental Monitoring and Research Initiative (CEMRI)

4:30 – 5:30                 Does the cooperative need a specific long-term objective to work towards, such as a map of soil change for the northeast?

March 13th

Morning Session        More on the concept of a long-term objective, plus administration and funding.

08:30 – 12:00              Continue discussion of a long-term objective to provide direction beyond the general mission statement

We have identified 2 cooperative activities that would require funds, such as developing an inventory of past, existing or planned plots/studies and running a website.  Are there ideas for other activities that need funding?  Discuss how these activities would be defined and implemented, then develop a plan to acquire funds.  NSRC deadline is March 21st.

Can we establish some type of charter?
