Using Technology tools and resources to develop quality classroom curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

Concepts/Skills:

Participants will:

• Use the Standards Into Action (SIA) and Marco Polo (MP) Web sites
• Develop a standards based unit of instruction using SIA & MP
• Search for quality lesson plans and activities
• Evaluate the quality of a lesson plan/activity
• Align lesson plans/activities with Vermont Standards
• Develop quality assessments with clear and explicit assessment criteria
• Use other SIA applications (E.G. Home Page Designer) and other web sites/tools to collaborate, communicate and improve their unit

Final Project:

A Standards based unit that is aligned with Vermont Standards and contains a series of activity plans/lesson plans (includes at least 2-3 lesson plans from the Marco Polo web site) as well as assessments that have clear and explicit assessment criteria.
