INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITIES
2006-Present: Conceptualized, developed and currently direct a
semester-long study abroad/faculty-led program in Belize focusing on
sustainable development. Responsibilities as Academic Director include:

International Activities
2005 and 2006:
Supervised UVM students engaged in
various projects related to consumer affairs and sustainable
development in St.
Lucia.
2004: Conducted consumer law training for the Ministry of
Commerce,
Investment & Consumer Affairs in Castries, St. Lucia.
2002 and 2003: Conducted consumer law training in Vermont for
representatives of the governments of St. Lucia (2002) and St. Kitts
and Nevis
(2003).
2002: Communicated and met with international education faculty and
staff
at three New Zealand universities to explore implementation of student
and
faculty exchange programs with UVM.
2000: Supervised student doing research project in
Belize. Provided
assistance in designing the project. While in Belize participated in
interviews
of representatives of government, non-governmental and private sector
organizations and edited the final research report.
1994-1995: Visiting Assistant Professor, ITM/MUCIA-Indiana
University
Cooperative Program in Malaysia. Taught courses in business law
at the
Indiana University campus in Shah Alam, Malaysia to Malaysian students
preparing for American degree programs.
1989-1990:
Guest lectured in consumer economics classes at Egerton
University, Njoro, Kenya. Served as a volunteer consultant for the
Kenya
Consumer's Organization on development of alternative dispute
resolution
institutions and processes.

1982-2001
Assistant Attorney General and
Director, Consumer Assistance Program, Office of the Attorney General
of
Vermont
As a part-time (.5 FTE) attorney for the State of Vermont, supervised
the
Consumer Assistance Program, the division of the Attorney General's
Office
responsible for consumer complaint-handling and consumer education,
co-sponsored by and housed at the University of Vermont.
1978-1981
Assistant Attorney General and Chief, Antitrust Division, Office of the
Attorney General of Vermont
Responsibilities included investigation and prosecution of antitrust
cases and
administration of six-person staff. Cases filed included
price-fixing and
resale price maintenance conspiracies in state and federal court.
Administrative duties included personnel, budgeting and grant
administration.
1973-1978
Assistant Attorney General, Consumer Protection Division, Office of the
Attorney General of Vermont
Responsibilities included litigation, drafting and testifying in
support of
legislation, and coordinating consumer education programs.
