Louis McAllister took this image from the intersection of Main and South Willard Streets looking west towards the city. The exact date of the photograph is unknown, but it must have been taken before 1936 because the Ridgewood Apartments at 324 Main Street, two doors past the intersection on the right, has not yet been constructed. McAllister captured another view of this accident in which the house at 138 South Willard, built in 1925, is visible and occupied (curtains and shades can be seen in the windows). Therefore, the accident must have taken place between 1926 and 1936.

Today, with the exception of a wider street and fewer tall trees, this area of Willard Street remains largely the same. Automobiles, however, are quite different.
