This photograph, dated August 15, 1939 and published in the 1940 Burlington Annual Report, looks south from the extreme northerly end of a paving project on Grove Street. In this image, we see the partially finished base and base leveling course on the road, as well as quarry operations to the right “where stone rubble is being prepared for the construction of the telford stone base”.[1] [2] Burlington City Annual Report, 1940, p. 169. |
