"Changing a college curriculum is liking moving a graveyard- you never know how many friends the dead have until you try to move them." - Wilson

Like many colleges and universities, the University of Vermont has been caught up in the Web fever that has swept the globe these past two years. In the early days this activity confined itself to the Computer Science and Academic Computing departments. B ut two years of almost subversive encouragement has led students, some staff, and finally faculty to plunge into the world of global hypermedia.

From eager acceptance to downright antipathy, the presence of the Web has elicited a variety of reactions. In this presentation I will look at some of the Web-work being created at UVM, examine the reactions, both positive and negative, and, with the help of conference participants, explore some of the questions generated by this thing called the Web.
