Green Tech Vermont is a company started by Scott Gordon around 5 years ago. He specializes in collecting vegetable oil from local restaurants, schools, and other businesses and converting them into Biodiesel for heavy Machinery and home heating. While interning for Scott I had two main projects, the first was transferring the lift gate from an old truck to a new one more suitable for the job. The second project was doing the every day duties of running a biodiesel plant, from picking up oil to processing it, to cleaning out barrels. It was very interesting to see how the whole process works behind the scenes and the troubles that you have to deal with on a daily bases. The goal of Scott’s business is to reduce our dependence on the foreign oil. He plans to expand his business to a larger factory in Windsor, VT soon which he hopes will increase his production levels.
