Bio-diesel Presentation

Dominica is an island rich in natural resources. One such resource is coconut oil, which is considered to meet the entire country’s energy needs in the event that they switched from regular diesel, to bio-diesel.

Considering the tremendous amount of money that Dominicans currently pay for diesel (approximately $7 US per gallon), converting the island to bio-diesel would save islanders a considerable sum of money while simultaneously making them energy independent.

In an attempt to jump start the bio-diesel initiative in Dominica, we gave a presentation on bio-diesel at the local state college. In this presentation we discussed the advantages of such a fuel source for their environment and economy, and gave a demonstration on how bio-diesel is made.

On the left you will see several links that will provide further insight and information into our purpose and goals, our preparation and experiment, and the end result of our presentation.
