Ordering Chemicals at UVM
To help minimize the fire risk associated wtih specific chemicals in UVM
laboratories, the Environmental Safety office manages the ChemSource program,
which stocks five chemicals which present specific flammability hazards: acetone,
ethanol, methanol, acetonitrile and nitric acid, as well as specific safety supplies. This program
holds the University's state and federal licenses for the purchase of ethanol
on campus. Thus, all non-denatured ethanol used on campus must be purchased
through the ChemSource program.
Ordering of chemicals from ChemSource requires the use of a UVM PeopleSoft chartstring.
After you click on the link below, you will be asked for your UVM NetID and
password (the same ones you use for Peoplesoft). This enables us to identify
the chartstrings you have previously used with ChemSource so that you will
only have to enter the chartstring once.
If you have not previously ordered with us, log in and we will give you the chance
to enter a new chartstring.
Click on this link to go to the ChemSource order page
