[1. Dictum] Der Segen des Herrn machet reich ohne Mühe.
[2. Recit.] Was hab ich noch zu hoffen?
[3. Dictum] Wohl dem, der den Herrn fürchtet, und auf seinen Wegen gehet.
Du wirst dich nähren deiner Hände Arbeit. Wohl dir!
du hast es gut.
[4. Aria] (PT: Aria) Was sorgst du doch
[5. Choral] (PT: Choral) Sing, beth, und geh auf Gottes Wegen,
[6. Aria] (PT: Aria) Drum thu nur das,
[7. Choral] (PT: Choral) Hierauf so sprech ich Amen,
1. Dictum The blessing of God maketh rich without labor.
2. Recit. What have I still to hope for?The day’s oppressive heat doth make me hot, But sorrow makes me anxious. The blessing long doth tarry And will my house by no means cover. What helpeth me my labor? If thousand drops of sweat I should encounter, Or if the night In trouble should be passed? I can indeed nought bring to help me, And must forever sing this song of sorrow: “I have here seldom gracious days, My daily bread is toil and woe!” My nurture is too slight, My store is e’er reduced. Where is at last my succor? Ah, shall I not feel sorrow? 3. Dictum Blest he who the Lord feareth and in his pathways walketh. Thou shalt be nurtured by thy hands’ own labor. Well thee, thou hast been blest. 4. Aria Why dost thou care So anxiously? God liveth e’er And cares for thee. So yield now thy heart to contentment. He is thy light, Thy strength and hope. He leaves thee not And hath thy lot Forever and rightly apportioned. 5. Chorale Sing, pray, and walk in God’s own pathways, Fulfill thy duty ever true And trust in heaven’s gracious blessing, And he’ll by thee be ever new. For all who place their confidence In God’s trust will he not forsake. 6. Aria Then do but that Which thee doth fit. All else permit, As he thee leads, In God’s gracious blessing to happen. Who in him trusts And loves his word Is well prepared And will alway His heart’s fondest wish see accomplished. 7. Chorale To this I say thus “Amen,” And have no doubt at all, God will all things together Make to his pleasure bend: Thereto I’ll stretch my hand, Begin the work with gladness To which me God appointed Within my call and rank. © Copyright Z.
