Hell: A Love Story

Hell: A Love Story

The year after high school was the worst year of my life. I was involved in an abusive relationship (contrary to popular opinion, men can in fact be on the receiving end of domestic abuse), suffering through serious depression, and working myself nearly to death in order to support the 300-pound weight around my neck that was my fiancée. Fortunately, I escaped that situation, got to college, and hooked up with the love of my life, Sarah, who I am now very happily married to. I can't really write a novel about my relationship with Sarah, though, since a story without any serious conflict isn't much of a story. So instead I chose to write about the worst relationship I've had. This piece is semi-autobiographical; I've added some fictional tidbits here and there, but about 70% of what's written here actually happened. Hopefully, the story itself is more entertaining than the year I endured.
