UVM Center for Teaching and Learning Workshops: Getting Started with Blackboard

Blackboard training season is now open! There are several sessions of Getting Started with Blackboard scheduled. This one-hour workshop introduces the Blackboard interface. This workshop is meant to be a beginner experience. No prior knowledge of Blackboard or WebCT is necessary.

BEST Summer Institute 2008: June 23-26, Killington Grand Resort, Killington, Vermont, is pleased to invite teams of educators, family members, the community and human services providers to share and learn strategies for improving and strengthening the complex educational supports and systems that exist and are essential in our schools and communities. Expect to learn about new programs, curricula, practices or activities that emphasize positive, research-based strategies and supports for all of our students.

EDSP 305: Interagency Collaboration and Resource Development (3 credits)

Where: BEST Summer Institute, Killington Grand Resort, Killington, VT

The course addresses interagency and family supports and planning strategies for meeting the needs of students with emotional and behavioral challenges. Participants will explore collaborative teaming strategies, the Vermont system of care, collaboration with families, lead agencies for children and families, and the Department of Education and Agency of Human Services Interagency Agreement and Act 264 coordinated service planning process. Please note: This is not the same course as EDSP 295: BEST Graduate Course, which is on the BEST Summer Institute Website.

The College of Education and Social Services, in cooperation with the Dean’s Office and the Research Council, are sponsoring the Third Annual CESS Scholarship Symposium on May 14th, from 8:30 to Noon.  A CESS faculty luncheon (12:00-12:30 p.m.) and faculty meeting (12:30 - 2:00 p.m.) will follow the symposium, in the same location.
