LECTURE:
The single most important thing to do
in preparing to speak: Practice in front
of others and get feedback!
Tips from TAs:
- Hooks -
at the beginning of any presentation, you need to get the attention of the audience.
- Objective: You should say "After my presentation you will know
.......". Saying "Today I'm
going to talk to you about....."
is NOT an objective!
- FOLLOW
THE CRITIQUE SHEETS!
- Repeat any questions asked at the end.
- Check your the speech date and lab
roles link on syllabus
- Pause for EFFECT.
- Take your
hat off! No hats, no gum
chewing.
- If you
use the projector - go to
the lab room a few days
ahead and practice! It
is your responsibility to
know the computer
and projector equipment
and to set up ahead - it
is not the responsibility
of the TAs.
