Assign General Format
To quickly return a cell, a range, or even the entire sheet to the General format:
- Select the cell or range you want to un-format.
- Then press Ctrl/Shift/~ (tilde).
Excel will remove all formats and return the selected cell or range to the General format (the default format for all sheets).
